The KBS® Fire Protection System is being applied all over the world. It comprises of a range of products which - in case of an incident – prevent the spread of fire and thus fulfil the requirements of up-to-date building codes and fire insurance regulations reliably and persistently.
The KBS® Fire Protection System offers a wide range of products for every conceivable application. In our well equipped state-of-the-art laboratories we have been developing for more than 50 years concepts and systems for active as well as for passive fire protection. Our modern production facilities provide for an excellent quality of our innovative and proven products. Of course, our comprehensive fire protection systems are not in a position to prevent all fires but at least they are making our lives significantly safer.
Thousands of fire tests and more than 200 listed test reports/approvals according to all internationally recognized standards give evidence of the excellent properties of our KBS® Fire Protection products for any kind of application and at any condition.
The development of a multi-purpose extinguishing powder is synonymous with the name of our company which is nowadays Cognis GmbH and which was formerly Grünau Illertissen GmbH. The invention of the first ABC-extinguishing powder of the world by our company in the late fifties was a breakthrough which enables fire extinguishing powders to become a generally accepted and almost universally applicable extinguishing medium. A team of scientists and experts is continuously working on the further development of the existing range of products. Our proven quality products are even used for the successful fire fighting of radio-active metal fires.
Since 1995 we have emphasized our product range also to liquid extinguishing agents named Pyrosal®. These products are highly effective to fight class A and class B fires. In this new development the fire experts from Cognis have continued their tradition of success: We aim to make good products even better!
